Saturday was a great day to celebrate Round Lake High School and our community as the Village of Round Lake joined the Homecoming Parade!
There is something special about a hometown parade. Seeing families lining the streets, kids waving and cheering, and blue and gold everywhere you look is a great reminder of what makes Round Lake such a wonderful place to call home.
We had a great time tossing candy to the parade-goers, waving to friends and neighbors, and enjoying the parade. I was especially happy to share the ride with Village of Round Lake Trustees Howard Schultz and John Boyk, along with Round Lake Area Park District Commissioners Sarah Wright and Nathalie Alvarez.
It was a lot of fun, and yes, we made sure we had plenty of candy! 🍬
Events like the Homecoming Parade are about more than football and school spirit. They bring generations of Round Lake residents together and give our community an opportunity to celebrate our students, families, teachers, coaches, volunteers, and everyone who helps make Round Lake a great place to live.
One of the things I enjoy most about serving as Mayor is getting out into the community, not just for meetings and official business, but for the moments when we can simply be together as neighbors.
