If you travel Route 120 regularly, this is a meeting worth putting on your calendar.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is hosting its second public information meeting regarding the Illinois Route 120 Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study.
This study is evaluating potential improvements and alternatives along the Route 120 corridor. The decisions and recommendations that come out of this process could have a lasting impact on transportation, traffic patterns, safety, and future development throughout our region, including the communities surrounding Round Lake.
Meeting Details:
📅 Tuesday, November 10, 2026
🕒 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 University Center of Lake County
1200 University Center Drive, Grayslake
The meeting will be conducted in an open-house format. There will be a brief presentation, followed by opportunities to review proposed alternatives, examine corridor maps, speak directly with the project representatives, and provide feedback.
Importantly, this is an opportunity to see what is being considered and make your voice heard before decisions move further along.
The public comment period remains open through December 10, 2026.
Whether you commute along Route 120, run a business in the area, or simply care about the future of our communities, I encourage you to take a look and participate.
