Stay Safe: Managing Poor Air Quality from Canadian Wildfires

Two anthropomorphic mosquitoes wearing jackets, smoking cigarettes and leaning on lampposts on a foggy suburban street.

🚨 Breaking News: 🚨

The Canadian wildfire smoke has officially accomplished what bug spray couldn’t…

It made the mosquitoes leave. 🦟✈️

Unfortunately, it also made the air quality terrible.

On a serious note: Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is creating unhealthy air quality across our area. If possible, limit prolonged outdoor activity—especially if you have asthma, heart or lung disease, are an older adult, are pregnant, or have young children. Keep windows closed if the air quality remains poor, and consider running your air conditioning on recirculate or using an air purifier if you have one.

You can also check the Air Quality Index (AQI) before heading outside to see how conditions are changing throughout the day.

We’ll take the mosquitoes back now… Canada can keep the smoke. Stay safe, Round Lake!
